Common stainless steel fastener for general use in harsh atmospheric conditions and some corrosive environments. 316 stainless steel has higher corrosion resistance than 18-8 stainless steel due to a higher Molybdenum content. 316 stainless steel fasteners are commonly used in applications that require general atmospheric corrosion resistance, such as chemical and food processing equipment. Some chemical environments may require special corrosion resistant materials and precautions.
Product to be marked with the manufacturers head marking as indicated by the X.
Usable thread length for Stainless Steel Hex Head Cap Screws can be approximated by the equation THREAD LENGTH = (2 X DIAMETER) + 1/4″
