APPLICATIONS:

Common stainless steel fastener for general use in harsh atmospheric conditions and some corrosive environments. Stainless steel has higher corrosion resistance than carbon steel. Stainless steel fasteners are commonly used in applications that require general atmospheric corrosion resistance, such as chemical and food processing equipment. Some chemical environments may require special corrosion resistant materials and precautions. The ASTM F593 specification covers a range of stainless steels.

Yield strengths listed are minimum acceptable per governing standard. Core hardness based on Rockwell scale. CW – (1) Headed and rolled from annealed stock thus acquiring a degree of cold work; (2) sizes 0.75 in. and larger may be hot worked and solution-annealed.
