G-CLIPS™ FOR FIBERGLASS GRATING

APPLICATION:

Grating fasteners to attach fiberglass grating to a horizontal-facing structural member edge.

G-Clip™ describes an assembly of fastener parts, each containing three common parts. First is a G-Clip’s unique top for better holding strength and fit on the intended grating. Second, a G-Clip’s patented bottom connects to the beam underneath the grating. A hex head cap screw connects the two, and its length suits the grating height being installed.

  • MODEL FSSGG

    DESCRIPTION:

    316 stainless steel. Fastens pultruded grating to a horizontal-facing, steel structural member edge. The Model FSSGG unique top has better holding strength and suits I-6000 pultruded grating.

    INSTALLATION:

    G-Clips can be installed from above the grating, by one person, unassisted, and using simple hand tools. A 7/16″ nut driver is most often used. Powered tools are not necessary, but electric or air driven tools can be used with torque limits.

    DESCRIPTION:

    316 stainless steel, “Close Grip”. G-Clip model RSSGC is a 316-stainless steel grating fastener used to fasten close-mesh bar grating to structural shapes, where the structural flange is in a horizontal plane. Unit has a unique narrow width to accommodate very narrow (3/8″) grating slots.

  • MODEL XSSGG

    DESCRIPTION:

    316 stainless steel grating fastener used to fasten bar grating to metal or other structural shapes,where the structural flange is in a horizontal plane. The model “X” top is a rectangular-shaped top, and can fit a 3/4″ wide slot between two bearing bars. Turned 90 degrees, it can fit a 1″ slot.

    INSTALLATION:

    As with any grating fastener, care should be taken during the grating layout, cutting and placement phase, to reduce the quantity of grating bars that are located over the structural member flange edge. This reduces the quantity of grating cross bars that interfere with fastener placement, which otherwise requires cutting of cross bars. Hold the G-Clip square top in hand, allowing the body portion to hang downward. Fit the body between two bearing bars and lower the unit until the body is below the grating bottom. Slide unit laterally toward, and allow it to fit under, the structural member flange. Pull upward on the top of the G-Clip, holding upward force. With the formed lower-body secure under the flange area, tighten the bolt with a 7/16″ wrench, to complete the installation of the G-Clip unit.
