Gaskets and Seals

Hardware accessories like gaskets and seals have multiple applications in different projects. They serve various purposes and are used for sealing gaps and preventing leaks. STS Industrial offers a wide range of gaskets for various sealing solutions, from standard gaskets to specialized metal gaskets, spiral wound gaskets, and more. As a leading provider of high-quality gaskets and seals, we are committed to being the best gasket manufacturer for our customers. We offer a diverse selection to complete the job regardless of the application requirements.

Comprehensive Gasket Solutions for Every Industry Need

STS Industrial’s superior gasket products are of the best quality. Our gaskets resist abrasion, vibration, and impact. Some gaskets are effective in severe temperatures, depending on the material they are manufactured from. STS Industrial provides various including spiral wound gaskets, ring gaskets, full face gaskets, and metal core gaskets.

We can also help you with custom-manufactured gaskets like custom sheet gaskets, spiral wound gaskets, dj gaskets, kammprofile gaskets, and other custom sealing products. Our custom-manufactured gaskets are available in a variety of materials, custom shapes and dimensions, thicknesses, rib configurations, and more.

Precision-Engineered Gaskets for Varied Applications

Many types of gaskets will be grouped based on their function or application, like anti-vibration, sealing, and mounting, and gaskets are categorized by material. Follow this helpful guide below to explore the types of applications for industrial gaskets.

Metallic Gasket

Metallic gaskets are made using one type of metal, while others may consist of a combination of metals. It is composed of one metal or a combination of metallic components. For applications that require exceedingly strong and higher-pressure surface seals, you’d want to use metallic gaskets.

STS Industrial offers the highest quality metal core gaskets that provide an extremely effective seal under low bolt loads and are designed to maintain a positive seal through thermal cycling and shock load conditions. Spiral Wound Gaskets are also available in multiple materials and configurations, which play a role in the suitability of the gaskets in different applications, such as enhancing resistance to corrosion from environmental elements or chemicals. The materials and use case application for the spiral wound gaskets are available in the following:

  • Flexible Graphite: Provides soft conforming material in fire-safe design with excellent chemical resistance. Typically rated to 842°F (450°C), but it depends on the specific manufacturer.
  • PTFE: Polytetrafluoroethylene provides superior chemical resistance and excellent sealing ability. Typically rated to approximately 500°F (260°C), but it depends on the specific manufacturer.
  • XHR: Extreme heat resistance. It uses a combination of mica barriers and APX2 to provide exceptional sealing ability to 1500°F (815°C), depending on the specific manufacturer.
  • Metallic Gasket Material for Winding Strip / Inner Ring / Outer Ring: Some common spiral wound gasket construction materials are listed below. This is not an exhaustive list, but it does cover some of the most prevalent options. The inner and outer rings of a spiral wound gasket may be the same material as the winding strip, a different one, or maybe different from one another.
  • 304 Stainless Steel: Alloy with 18% Cr and 8% Ni is the material most used in manufacturing industrial gaskets due to its excellent resistance to corrosion, low cost, and availability in the market.
  • 316 Stainless Steel: This alloy, with 18% Ni, 13% Cr, and 2% Mo, offers excellent resistance to corrosion beyond that of 304 Stainless Steel.
  • Carbon Steel: xCommon, economical material for manufacturing the outer ring as contact with the process fluid is limited—low resistance to corrosion, including atmospheric corrosion.

If your job requires custom-manufactured gaskets, STS Industrial provides gaskets made of various high-quality metals in multiple custom shapes and dimensions, thicknesses, rib configurations, and more.
