Annular Cutters produce quality large diameter holes efficiently and quickly. They are most commonly used with portable magnetic drill presses, or mag drills, but can also be used in presses and other portable drills as well. An annular cutter’s multiple cutting teeth cut only the material around the periphery of the hole, leaving a solid metal slug. Because only a small portion of the material is actually being cut, holes are drilled 3 to 4 times faster than conventional twist drills. With multiple cutting edges, or teeth, do the cutting, they remain sharper longer and can create 5 to 10 times more holes than traditional twist drills. Annular cutters are used primarily with magnetic drill presses.
